Fishing has been great for 2017

Since the first of the year of 2017 – fishing has been hot.  Despite the red tide and minor cold fronts,

the fishing has been consistent.  Primarily, fishing incoming tide during periods of stable high

pressure and warmer than average gulf temps have been getting a variety of species.  Pompano,

black drum, sheepshead, mangrove snapper, bluefish, whiting, ladyfish and “catch and release”

snook have been caught.  Snook season opens March 1  –  April  31.  Snook permit required to

possess a snook in legal range; 28″ to 33″ Gulf coast ( One fish per day).
